about

Today's entry in the WEEK OF CARK is "Fa La La La Laaaaa."
Once upon a time, Cark wrote an homage to Godsmack. The lyrics were just anonymous grunting gibberish in E minor. Conversely, this song is an homage to '80s rapper Young M.C.
Now hold on a second, you're saying, that makes zero sense. WELCOME TO CARK WORLD. It doesn't need to make sense. It's only rock and roll (but we like it).
But seriously, Young M.C. has an entire song called "Stone Cold Buggin'," that is built from rhymes on the same phonic. "This rhyme right here has been dedicated, to all rap fans that said that they hated, those other emcees who's rhymes deviated..." and so on. FOR THE WHOLE SONG. So we did the same thing. But with a dancey garage rock thing instead of hip hop. So having explained it, who's crazy now?
Also this song has my favorite weird noise of the EP (that echoing pulse of noise), and my favorite lyrics (lyrics dirty as a fucking used diaper, run our mouths like a bunch of weisenheimers, we get mispronounced, like the country Niger, and understood like a scrambled cypher). The thing is, it's both nonsense, and a totally dead-on assessment of the essence of Cark.
It's also definitely in the tradition of the material we were moving towards in our later era, but didn't get around to recording. Tunes like "Don't Bother Writing Songs," and "Can You Rock in Singapore?" had the same sort of beat and vibe to them.
